So you’re going to NYC?

I stopped by the USA for a week earlier this year and I thought I’d make this post to give you some inspiration for when you decide to visit NYC too.
A few things to take note of:
- Don’t be silly like me and take the wrong plug adapter. I took the European one because I assumed that the European plugs were everywhere except for the UK (Silly me), and I had to pay $30 in time square for an adapter which is a lot considering you can get them for as cheap as $10 in the UK.
- Once you’ve booked your hotel and you get out there, you might have to pay an extra facility fee (around $200 or so) and a temporary deposit (around $300 or so)
- Don’t be surprised by the tipping culture (I wasn’t too familiar with this because it’s not something we really do in the UK unless it’s a service charge etc). It isn’t optional (well it is but it doesn’t feel like it) so make sure you take enough and extra when you’re out to basically hand out.
